1. Knowing who your target market is
When you are thinking about selling your house, the first thing to find out is who your target market is. How many bedrooms do you have, would your property suit a single professional, a family, or possibly someone elderly. If you feel a professional would be more suited, you can turn your back bedroom into a study by simply adding a desk in there!
2. Minimalist always works best
Potential buyers always want to envision themselves living in your property. If you want to
sell your house fast now would be a good time to clear away all your ornaments and personal items. Putting large mirrors up in rooms always works good too, giving the impression of more space.
3. Get those odd jobs finished off
A fresh coat of paint, or a new kitchen door can do wonders to improve a first impression of your house. Get your paint brush out and make a start. Give your lawn a trim also as this will be one of the first things a potential
property buyer will see.
4. Have a spring clean
If you don’t want to redecorate, a spring clean is always a good way to freshen up your house. Get your marigolds on, and get to work. Wash down your skirting boards, don’t leave a hair unturned.
5. Choosing your estate agent and solicitor
Try to get round as many estate agents as you can. They will all give you various asking prices for your home, some close to realistic, and some not so realistic. If you want a fast house sale, obviously the lower the asking price the better. For your solicitor you want someone who is responsive, and quick acting, so again make sure to shop around.
6. Find out all the costs involved
Estate agents come with many fees, so make sure you are fully aware of what exactly you will pay if you do manage to sell your property. As with solicitors, you will need to ask how much they charge, and if there are any hidden costs involved.
